We are a non profit making, Social Enterprise company limited by guarantee and have been established since October 2008. Our Social Enterprise provides management support services to the co-located partners on Campus: Thomas Whitham Sixth Form, Barden Primary School, Reedley Hallows Nursery and Children’s Centre, Holly Grove School, Burnley and Pendle Faith Centre, and the Lancashire County library: Serving 1100 children and young people and over 170 members of staff, as well as delivering extended and community services to the local community.
Our Social Enterprise Company is one of the first of its kind nationally and represents an innovative collaborative approach to providing out-of-hours services for the community. It is an evolving and innovative model that is being used Nationally as an example of best practice in the delivery of services to the wider community.
Burnley Campus is truly a community hub. We have worked continually hard with drive, motivation and determination to ensure that the Campus provides high quality, reasonably priced services, in a secure and caring environment for all people within our community.
Money generated by the social enterprise is used to pay for delivery of extended and management support services, as well as other tasks that are necessary for the effective functioning of the schools within Burnley Campus.
We have worked hard over the last 4 years to develop the concept of collaboration and partnership working into a fully sustainable social enterprise business that is delivering a wide range of activities and services. These are offered not only to support young people and the community to lead healthy lifestyles, to feel safe, to enjoy and be successful but to support the partners on campus in delivering high quality education and other services.
Burnley Campus is a community hub rather than just a collection of schools. The social enterprise is a key part of the operations of the Campus, and supports the core educational aims of the schools and partners.
