Welcome to Reedley Hallows Nursery School and Children’s Centre.
It is a very happy nursery school and you will find us interested in your child and all that they do.
Reedley Hallows Nursery School is a local authority nursery school, administered by Lancashire County Council.
A nursery school is not a home substitute, but an extension of and a supplement to the experiences children gain at home.
Children gain a tremendous amount from nursery education. They are taught and learn in six broad areas of experience, outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, a statutory document from the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
The areas of experience are communication, language and literacy; problem solving, reasoning and numeracy; personal, social and emotional development; physical development; knowledge and understanding of the world and creative development.
Nursery school is an educational establishment, providing a rich and stimulating environment where learning takes place through purposeful play. All our teaching is directed at enabling children to develop and progress on an individual basis. Early years qualified staff observe and are ready to step in whilst children play, with individual teaching to help develop and extend children’s learning through that particular activity.
When children leave nursery school, they will, hopefully, have developed independence and self-confidence in their own ability; will find life interesting; be eager to learn and able to communicate their feelings and ideas and will have gained tremendously from the wide experiences and learning opportunities they have been afforded.
At Reedley Hallows, we believe that education is very much a partnership between home and school. Parents, carers and friends are always welcome and if you would like a visit to find out more, please feel free to contact us or come and talk to staff on the Community Open Day on Saturday 16th May 2009.
Reedley Hallows Children’s Centre also provides additional services for young children and families including ‘family support’; ‘Stay & Play’ sessions; playgroup sessions for 2-3 year olds; ‘Saturdads’ dad’s group and childminder support.
Our Children’s Centre is an exciting new development and we are keen to form close links with parents and our local community to help us shape the services we provide to meet your needs.
